ABOUT ME!
Rex Baker grew up in Rochester, New York, where sports played a crucial role during his childhood and teenage years. In high school, he was fond of weightlifting and actively engaged in various sports like lacrosse and football. He maintained his passion for weightlifting throughout college while also playing lead guitar in a rock band. After earning his degree from the University of Rochester, Rex turned his love for weightlifting into a thriving two-decade career in competitive bodybuilding. During this time, he became one of the nation's leading National Heavyweight Bodybuilders and was highly sought after as a personal trainer. Alongside bodybuilding, Rex enjoyed success as a reggae DJ in New York.
Rex's ease on stage and before large audiences led his personal manager to suggest he try acting alongside bodybuilding. This resulted in him landing a small role in New York, which then took him to New Orleans where he worked as a featured extra. Within two years, Rex advanced to supporting and leading roles. Now proficient in Martial Arts—specifically Hapkido—as well as Stunt Training, Weaponry, and Firearms skills training through Acting Classes to enhance his craft further are part of what makes him adept at acting roles today; crediting much that success back towards lifting weights initially being integral toward achieving such accomplishments overall.
